The 61st Annual Illinois Traffic Engineering and Safety (TES) Conference will be this week, Tuesday 10/16 to Thursday 10/18 RIGHT HERE at Illinois at the iHotel & Conference Center (1900 South 1st St, Champaign, IL 61820). Transportation and safety professionals in the Midwest meet to discuss current ideas and issues and to present research. You also get to network with professionals in the public and private sectors. Best part – you get to be involved and it is FREE for students (and free lunch on Wed if you help out)!!! There is also golf with faculty and professionals, a panel on careers in transportation, and opportunities to help out.

2. Golf Outing: Tuesday, 10/16, 12:00 – 5:30 P.M., U of I Golf Course (Orange) in Savoy, IL.
The golf outing provides an excellent networking opportunity for you to play with transportation professionals! NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY – as long as you don’t throw the club at someone, come try it out! Bonus: there might be dinner and drinks afterward. $25 for students + $10 club rental. Sign-up link here.
3. Student-Practitioner Forum: Wednesday 10/17, 6:30 – 8 P.M., 1233 Newmark.
An informal event where students can have a Q&A with several working professionals about various transportation careers. This can be an invaluable info and networking session – Don’t miss it! Even if you are not sure about transportation – be sure to come! And did I mention free pizza? 😀
4. Room Hosts for sessions: Various times, iHotel. Needed ASAP.
